“The plants distill their wisdom into your mind and condense it into your heart, inscribing their teachings upon your soul.”
Sajah Popham
Plant distillation is an ancient process, dating back to the year 2000 B.C. It is believed that the first distillations took place in China, Egypt, and Mesopotamia, primarily for medicinal purposes, but also for the creation of balms, essences, and perfumes.
In this one-day workshop where we will work in depth with one aromatic plant (Rose Geranium Plant), studying its monograph, feeling the plant, accompanying it throughout the process of transformation from the visible to the invisible until the hydrolate and essential oil are obtained. This workshop consists not only of teaching the process of artisanal distillation with the alembic, but as an art and awakening awareness and respect for plants, connecting with the plant from the earth, in its preparation to the journey inside the alembic. Also represents a true synergy of herbalism and aromatherapy.
Participants will finish this workshop deeply connected to the plants, appreciating the whole process that also takes place in our in-house still. This bring us as one body of the earth!
Included:
• Lunch.
• All course materials are included along with a Plant Monograph. Each participant will also take home a 50ml bottle of the hydrolat distilled that day.
